Well, I think the Trinity Site Open House (Oct 7) is outside your window. White Sands Missile Range only lets the public "tour" the site of the world's first nuclear explosion twice a year: the first Saturdays of April and October.
Acoma Pueblo is worth it. Only a few people actually still live in the 13th Century village atop the mesa, but most of the members of the tribe have a house there for ceremonial occasions. Outside of feast days, there are guided tours (with a fee) and you are allowed to take some photos (with a few restrictions that they'll tell you about). The visitors' center at the base of the mesa is very nice, with a cafe and a small museum as well as a gift shop. That's where you sign up for the tours of the village.
Laguna Pueblo (just East of Acoma and right on I-40) has one of their major feast days on September 19. The Laguna village isn't as old as Acoma, but many members of the tribe still
live there, so it's less of a "museum piece". The Laguna tribe is the largest of the pueblos and they have several villages - each with it's own festival.
