In the big scheme of things, this is frustrating and will delay some planned use of the card and benefits, but I have some time to spare in this case. In the meantime, I'll continue to use my Chase cards since I hold no other AMEX cards.
It should be OK if you'll have the AmEx card activated by your hotel stay or the hotel's cancellation deadline.
