On the phone again tomorrow to BA to get that tidied up ... hopefully. It seems AA are very keen on first/middle/surname, whereas BA seems happy with first/surname.
I'm sure we've had this digital conversation before: due to a longstanding interface bug between Sabre and Amadeus, this is a well known outcome, the middle name gets concatenated. Furthermore if BA change it, it risks doubling up even more when the Sabre interface comes over again. So personally I wouldn't do anything more now, it may well reappear anyway. And as previously advised, don't put a middle name into AA, just first name and patronymic, nothing else, you'll see no asterisk by that box. AA doesn't need or want middle names, it recently seemed able to issue a boarding pass to a native American whose entire name was A.
