AA should do a better job of policing self-upgraders. Regardless of it not being a separate fare class, it is a separate product for purchase, or free to elites. I have no issue on full planes when standbys are put in MCE (it only makes sense to do so). But on a non-full plan, self-upgraders should be turned back to their assigned seat.
That said, I'm losing no sleep over the issue.
If I've been assigned a middle seat next to a guy in a window seat, and the aisle seat (extra $$$) is open once the door closes, should I remain in my middle seat next to the guy in the window or should I move to the aisle seat?
