They do renovatiuons very well in Singapore; I was at Swissotel during its extensive renovation, they do 10 floors at a time and it really doesn't affect the rest of the hotel. Even noise is well contained (they have things like sound insulated tarps -- quite a bit more sophisticated than in the US). Imagine the Conrad will be similar quality and wouldn't worry about the impact.
