What's in a name? A tribute to the past. A promise for the future.

Recognizing the proud tradition of ancient Polynesian wayfarers, Aloha Airlines has branded its first-class service as Navigator Class and bestowed the name Voyager Class on its enhanced coach-class service.

The nautical names pay homage to the incredible skill and courage of Polynesian navigators who steered voyaging canoes by the stars, finding their way with uncanny accuracy across the vast Pacific to Hawaii.
"While many airlines are cutting back on food and amenities, branding our inflight service as Navigator Class and Voyager Class further differentiates what we do-and how well we do it-from what others are doing," says Glenn Zander, Aloha's President and Chief Executive Officer.

"We chose the names Navigator and Voyager because they link Aloha with the lore of the Polynesian voyaging canoes that were piloted by some of the greatest wayfinders the world has ever known."

Since the start of the carrier's trans-Pacific service in February 2000, each of the advanced-technology Boeing 737-700s in Aloha's fleet has been named after legendary and famed Polynesian navigators. As more aircraft are added to the fleet, they will be named after the stars that guided the navigators to and from Hawaii.
