Sydney has some fabulous restaurants. They are $$$ in Australian dollars but more moderate when converted to USD.

The best: Tetsuya - no menu, (just tell the waiter any dislikes) and you will get about 10 small courses of the most amazing Japanese,French, Australian fusion and they will also match wines for a reasonable price.
