The three airlines can now co-operate commercially on flights between the EU, Switzerland and Norway and the US, Canada and Mexico.

That is similar to the *A A++ ATI (which includes countries beyond Europe IIRC) and the AF/KL/AZ/DL deal that VS is seeking entry to.
