I have been asked to show the CC I used to pay for flights. It has happened on flights I have purchased for other people like friends or family, and for flights in which I am not a pax. I have been told by several airlines that the CC check normally happens for flights within days or a few weeks of purchase. It should not be necessary for flights purchased months in advance.
