When buying directly with EY, the lap infant will be the infant percentage rate ( typically 10% ) of EY's fares
When the lap infant ticket is issued by AA, it will be 10% of the lowest fare that AA is allowed to issue a ticket for. This may well be a very expensive base fare. A lot of EY's fares have rules that limit sale to EY and so cannot be used by AA when calculating a fare
