If you are paying for the stay at check-out, then generally you can use any number of cards you like for any amounts, even if none of them are the card that was authorized on check-in.

Most hotels just type the amount into their terminal and then you put your card in, so as long as they have a calculator there shouldn't be any problem. You can also do part-cash and part-card payments this way.

But some hotels may use a web portal billing system, for example, Hilton Rotterdam where I checked in and out and paid without getting my wallet out at all - and the card number on the reservation was not even mine, nor did I have it with me! (If asked I would have shown and paid with a different card, obviously)

Even on prepaid stays, if a hotel wants to provide good service, they should be happy to refund prepaid amounts to the original card (at least, if you can present the card and it is still valid) and re-charge the stay to different card(s).
