Connecting in FCO (Rome) onto a BA flight

Hi all

I have searched the web but not found a definitive answer to this query so am hoping the vast wealth of knowledge here might assist.

I am arriving into FCO T1 on an internal Alitalia flight and will be HBO. My next flight will be a BA flight to LHR departing from FCO T3, and again I won't need to check-in any luggage. I understand both "terminals" are connected together.

What I can not work out is whether I can just connect airside in this instance, or whether I need to come landside due to travelling on two separate tickets? Unless there is an IT issue I will have my BA boarding pass on my phone.

Many thanks in advance for any advice.
