Lastly, the flight attendants are usually more attentive on SQ when you need something. However, please note that some feel UA is trying to improve its cabin service. I hope the feedback has been helpful.
Having just finished a trip where the outbound was UA F and inbound SQ C, I agree with the above comments. No question in my mind that the UA suite is superior in terms of space and comfort. However, (even with the supposedly improved food & service on UA) SQ is vastly superior in every other respect. Although I appreciate the comfort of the UA first suite, it is really annoying how poor (grudging & resentful) much of the service from UA flight attendants is and the degree to which UA still skimps on food/service. For example, even in first UA won't give out more than one small water bottle per passenger and flight attendants rarely voluntarily check to see if glasses are full. On SQ it is hard to let a glass of any sort stay empty. This is not to mention the much better food, huge volume of food available, and superior snacks. Even for things such as the quality of the fruit, there is a huge differential (SQ's is great, UA's generally poor). Even though I always have DVDs with me to watch on my PC, I really appreciated the availability of 60 movies on demand on SQ.
