The other option would be to use the ticketing desks land or airside in LHR, or landside in LGW. These technically have a £15 booking fee but the agent may waive this if you're nice.
Any tips on getting the multicity tool to work for my trip?

I have tried it but it prices £70 higher, I think this may be because it uses the BA codeshare flight number rather that the CX number which ITA MAtrix gives. I want to fly BA31/32 combo LHR-HKG-LHR with the HKG-SYD-HKG being CX flights CX111/110 rather that the BA versions of the CX flights.

Matrix states that the fare basis is BA OLRC1UK
