I couldn't find answer to this question, so I'd like to ask it in new thread.
My Gold Elite status ends on the 31st of January. What happens with status benefits in case of stay in Marriott property, for example between 30th of January and 2nd of February? As regards lounge access, I can imagine that I'll have only for a part of stay (unless hotel is kind enough and gives me such access for the whole period). However, what about room upgrade?

By the way, is there any chance for extension of status for couple of days (let's say a week) if I book a room for a period shortly after 31st of January? Does it make sense to apply for such extension or is it rather pointless as MR will not accept it?
