I don't think I have ever heard two announcements in all my years of flying. Usually the flight deck will make their last commentary before this announcement ("We'll be turning on the seatbelt sign soon (read:go pee now" and "Thanks for choosing United..."), but there is usually a period of time between that, the seatbelt sign going on and the "prepare" announcement.
