Its a fair comment - I was particularly impressed with Ryanair recently: aside from the garish colour scheme and quotidian cabin feel, there is little to differentiate as you say. BA have even copied their filter coffee for BOB

The connection point is a good one, although for me, near LGW, another option is BA to AMS then KLM to Gdansk. On the way out its a 90min transfer in AMS, although back is longer. May look into other options out of LGW - anything to stop a taxi all the way around the M25 and then the M1 or M11 at rush hour!
