I just flew into SFO on CX with a transfer on AS up to SEA. When I checked in for my SEA flight, the agent told me Alaska had axed my flight the previous day and the only space left was on a flight 3 hours later in coach---I was on a paid F class ticket. They were able to put me on a United flight that left sooner but they made it sound like they were doing me a big favor. Not only will I not get any miles for this leg but Alaska let me sample the competition. I have not flown United in over ten years. The flight was operated by a boeing 757 with much better seats than Alaska's--all in all it was an eye opener.
