The OAK of 4-5 years ago would be the one I'm familiar with. Unfortunately, SMF is not an option as I live in Silicon Valley. SJC is by far the most convenient airport and SFO is still closer than OAK. However, AS was matching a WN fare special on OAK-SNA at the time I booked, and I figured flying out of OAK wouldn't be much of a hassle. Oh well...
