Moving from CX to BA - between statuses
Hello,
Following CXs changes to MPC I did not requalify for Diamond this year and looking at my typical travel (5 - 6 LH in eco+) I decided to move to BA, I should be able to reach Gold, as eco+ gets more tier points on BA than I would get on CX.
Now in order to still use my OWS benefits on my next two trips before becoming OWS in BAs program I am wondering if the below is a workable strategy.
Trip 1 PVG - HKG -JNB on CX:
Check in online with CX number, select seats, print boarding pass and Lounge invitation.
Arrive at airport queue up and present BA card to have miles credited to that account. Enter Lounge with CX invitation.
Trip 2 PVG - LHR - MEX
Not sure if the same will work here, will BA allow me to print lounge invitations together with boarding passes or do I only get access to the lounge with the card ?
Unfortunately, I have not received my CX Gold card yet, and my Diamond card will be expired by the time I travel.
The other option is to just settle for OWS on CX and hope to hit the mid tier benefits, even though they're not that great and I would definitely miss F lounge access.
