Agree -- the inconsistency is what really devalues the program.
What I appreciate about the Ambassador program the most is having a single point of contact of anything and everything to do with SPG. I appreciate and do value the personal relationship with my Ambassador and do feel that her intentions are 10/10.
As I've said often, how properties implement Ambassador requests is the major inconsistency -- some properties knock it out of the park. Other properties could care less. A subset of properties appear to resent requests from the Ambassador program altogether.
I hit 100 nights a couple of months ago so have my Ambassador for the coming qualifying year. Ultimately, having the single point of contact has made it worthwhile for me. As for the extras, upgrades and perks? Those seem to depend entirely on how a property decides to recognize an Ambassador guest.
