Just returned from a week in Puerto Rico. The EA selection was awful, but perhaps I'm spoiled in Seattle. It was all Hyundai minivans and Jeeps. There were a couple of larger SUVs set aside. They were offered to me, but they are just too big. Someone was just picking up a bright orange Dodge Charger - the only "sporty" car I could see.

The only other thing in the "upgrade" section was a Honda Accord Sport (not "sporty" in my opinion) with about 11,000 miles on it. I took that and it worked out OK. For comparison, I have a four month rental in Seattle - at the time of pickup I was just Executive (now Elite) and there was very little available in the Executive Aisle. There was an Infinity Q30 in the VIP section. I asked and they gave it to me for no additional cost.

I mentioned this to the attendant in PR and he laughed, saying they have nothing like that in PR. I just moved from the island back to the mainland and with the condition of the roads, they are not going to have many high end vehicles. In three years I blew four BMW run flats on potholes on the highway. PR has mandatory liability insurance for about $100 per year, which is all that most people carry so there are many damaged cars on the road and people aren't going to leave a note if they back into your car.

On a positive note, the lot attendants were very nice and spoke great English. Even the return agents were very friendly.
