Given that AA EXP do not have automatic lounge access for USA domestic flights, but do have access if the domestic flight is continuing from an international long haul, presentation of both boarding passes would be expected. I don't recall any specific verbiage in the AA "rules" requiring that both segments be in the same PNR, but I suspect that they would be expected to be a "normal" connection.
