Where's the OP flying from? There's a big difference in flight time (9.5 vs 12.5 hours) if you're flying from TYO compared to say HKG which would make the decisions very different.


Also direct flight or stopover? For some intra-Asia flights no PEY is offered which means you are in a Y seat until the TPAC flight.


EVA Elite class seats can be reclined depending on the plane (I last flew in the Elite class in 2016 in a 777 and it reclines just fine).
