I am confused, would you still be paying for the Curio even if staying at the Conrad? You are staying so should be paying something.
I left a hotel once due to construction and I worked it out with the front desk of the hotel I was leaving. They gave me a certificate for a walk rate at the new hotel but it only covered 2 nights. Had to work real hard for that as a walk rate is usually only good for 1 night. So I was still paying but at a reduced rate for the 2 nights at new hotel. Hotel leaving offered the 100% satisfaction guarantee but I refused as that would only benefit my employer and I would lose the points. They didn't charge me for the night I moved as I would be paying at the other hotel.
The reason for the move was they put big noisy blowers in every room to dry things out. About size of a refrigerator. Amazingly they were still checking people in as I was leaving.
