I've only made it halfway through this thread...and I half to say GradGirl, your approach is really quite juvenile. I honestly don't mean to offend, but it truly is. You sound like a young person wanting to throw a tantrum.
Clogging the pipes at the security checkpoints will be quite funny. Perhaps you'd even make the News of the Weird. The security checkpoints in all honesty are only mildly inconveniencing under normal circumstances. Seriously. I go through them every day 2-3 times; it's really not that big a deal. What you're proposing would have disastrous consequences - at a large airport, a serious jam could shut down a terminal, cause flight delays (that affect multiple routes throughout the system - not just the immediate departures), etc, etc, etc.
Leaving multiple unattended packages throughout the place could be equally disastrous, if not more so. There are right ways and wrong ways to go about doing things, and this is a very, very wrong way. So wrong that I can't find the words.
The security checkpoints are not a serious injustice on the order of apartheid or caste systems or slavery or genocide or a lack of AIDS drugs in developing countries or famine and poverty, etc, etc, etc. Certainly there are far more pressing concerns in the world if you have the time or energy to get riled up.
