Changing Allegiance

I started flying today's United back in University. In those days, Continental -- in my opinion -- had a higher level of service than your ordinary carrier and lived up to the mantra of 'work hard, fly right.' Free meals in the back was an example of this, at a time when other carriers were contemplating charging for a can of coke (Kirby). United, in those days, catered itself to the best of its elite customers. Back then, being 1K mattered. Many customers didn't enjoy their flying experience with United but the airline went above and beyond to meet its frequent fliers expectations. As I bet we can all attest to.

Without going into the products of the merger -- we all understand what occurred and where we are today -- I'm looking for that good flying experience again. I'm asking this forum - stay with United or look elsewhere? I'm interested to hear your thoughts.
