I assume you're a US-based flyer who needs PQDs? A bulk fare would actually generate about 50% more PQMs than a cash fare would here; 19,738 vs ~10,915 for a general member and 32,896 vs ~24,013 for a 1K/GS. The biggest downside is the lack of PQDs.
