Sorry for the confusion.
My comments comparing the 777 and 787 are only regarding J.

We did have the chance for a brief walk-through of Fin 801 before general boarding - but really cannot envision ever travelling again in Y on long haul, and definitely never on the compacted 777 where our old favourite 18A&B lost their cosy private corner!

I really think anyone in advanced years (76!) should carefully consider the potential consequences of being in Y on super-long-haul. In fact, thinking about YYZ-NRT on AC9/10, the stop and deplane in YYC is actually probably a good break for some - even though the metal may be a 788 rather than 767!
