"cas & points" stays are in fact funded with points. The cash element is simply used to purchase some of the points used.



You do pay specific fixed-sum taxes (often listed as "city tax" or "tourist tax") on each guest or on the room.

You may get hammered by resort fees - some do, but my stay in Hawaii was fee-free although they gave me the resort privileges.

You do not pay the regular %ge based taxes and charges.
