People used to say "
It's grim 'oop North" - but I guess it can be grim all over Europe if you book a CE ticket
This is how CE catering is currently advertised & promoted on ba.com :

Our Club Europe service on short haul flights within the UK and Europe offers you a meal planned to perfection based on the time and length of your flight"
This is accompanied by a fairly comprehensive description of the different types of food which passengers can 'choose' and 'enjoy' in the Club Europe cabin.
Given that things in BA land are not always, ahem, "
planned to perfection", perhaps the relevant section of the website just needs to be tweaked a little to incorporate the following :
"
However please be aware that we have no legal obligation to serve meals onboard our shorthaul flights, and we might at any time decide to offer you nothing at all.
In such cases please note that we cannot entertain requests for any form of compensation, goodwill gesture, or even a formal written apology."
