Date point re slightly different names for SPG and Lufthansa
FWIW, my wife just completed a successful transfer of SPG points to LH miles. Though the helpful SPG CSR said the names had to be exactly the same, the transfer went through despite the fact that her Lufthansa name includes her middle name and her Starwood name does not. (LH CSR and feedback in FT LH forum correctly said this would not be a problem.)
Transfer initiated on Aug. 18 and completed by Aug. 24 - perhaps even sooner, since we did not check until Aug. 24.
