Under APIS (Advance Passenger Information System) you must provide advance information to be able to fly. If you can't update your PNR online, as your API doesn't match your actual passport, you'll have to present your information at the counter for your PNR and API to be updated, afaik.
State Department has advised me not to travel with both passports. But in this circumstance should I get the other one as well? I'll be cutting it close and a PITA, but it's doable.
