I may be dating myself, but many years ago the CX Marco Polo Gold card had the
benefit of access to any lounge when flying any airline. I used to avail myself of that
benefit many times in TPE, when the airlines that I regularly flew had lounges landside,
and only CX had a lounge airside.

Furthermore, again quite a few years ago, AC's Superelite status used to allow access
to the lounge even if not flying ( they would issue a gate pass after security screening
was first imposed).

Ah, the good old days...
