Every time I read a thread with a similar view or experience like this, I become very disheartened by the whole negativity that seems to exhale. Whether it be from the airline or just a general current consensus on FT, there's a part of me that almost feels like the embarrassed relative who can't do anything but watch a family member destroy themselves helplessly until they become so helpless that intervention happens and extreme reactions are the only way forward.
I geniunely wanted to be apart (still do) of BA as a customer, almost 5 yrs ago, to help me fly to the places I love.
I was taken back then by the announcement that they were investing heavily at the time, £5bn, in aircraft, experiences etc. I then found FT & the BAEC forum. Well what a gold mine! Alas my first Silver card arrived 2 years ago and I haven't looked back.
But now it it is difficult to be positive in a sea of negativity produced by a very well informed and experienced crowd. I take as much as I can with a pinch of salt. There seem to be some flashes of light amongst the dark but I do wonder if it's just tipped over the edge and no longer recoverable. I like to take a balanced view and hope BA turn another corner and delight their customer base all over again.
Does anyone know what happened or know of that so called £5bn investment plan they had almost 5 or 6 so years ago? I know aircraft have been brought (787, 380) but surely that wasn't all they spent money on?!
