When I was young and foolish and thought CSRs knew what they were talking about, I made the same mistake. BUT then I learned how foolish I was, called back in, revived the application (say you changed your mind and want the card anyway), got approved, and got the miles.
IT IS POSSIBLE TO REVIVE A CANCELLED APP IF YOU DONT WAIT TOO LONG!
