Some airlines will give you hotel accommodation if there's no escaping an overnight: some will do it only for certain travel classes.

I don't think many carriers are proactive in the provision of accommodation - you have to ask.

Within the Lufthansa Group, Brussels will certainly give you an overnight hotel at BRU. I'll bow to the expertise of others when it comes to Lufthansa, but it can do no harm to ask the airline itself.
