If by "non-refurbished" you mean a formerly four class 747-438, it has 4 PE rows in a 2-4-2 layout. Y has a 3-4-3 layout.
These aircraft have been refurb'd a couple of times in their service life, but have not had the latest overall refurb.
The PE seating is pretty much the same as on the current refurb level as far as I could see when I was flying on one for SCL-SYD in May. I was in J and didn't walk further back than the PE cabin, so can't comment on the Y seats.
