YVR-TPE is approx $3k on some dates. Also look at YYZ-DXB or YYZ-BOM. Assuming you want to visit Dubai or Mumbai. I booked YYZ-BOM o/w in J for $2400. Thats a 14hr flight.
YYZ-HKG $2200 o/w connecting in PVG or $2400 direct in Nov.
