So, I ended up booking 3 AirBnB places. All come with pocket WiFi for the duration of the stay.

That means, the only time I won't have a pocket wifi to use will be when I land at the airport and am traveling to the first location, after checkout on the way to the next place (x2), and on the final trip back to the last airport for my flight home.

It's not too much time, yet I'm wondering if that's when I'll need it the most. Total newbie to Japan and will have kids with me. As I'm staying at AirBnB locations, I'm guessing I can't just show a stranger the name of the place and hope for directions and will need to rely on Google Maps more?
