Generally crews are allowed to travel as they please while on layover. There are exceptions based on security or health situations (HKG and SARS for example) though. You can find info about crew hotels, and favorite crew bars etc using google in most cases. Air crew are usually quite fun, find a bar where they hang out and go hoist a pint with them!
