I've had a MLL membership for a few years now and my understanding was that the tax does not apply (I live in the US). At the time of last year's renewal, I was told it didn't apply and I wasn't charged for tax.

This year, however, MLL CS is pushing me towards renewing on the website where it automatically applies 15% tax. I've asked whether this should apply and the agent has not answered my question.. only said (paraphrased), "everything goes through the online portal and the portal charges tax".

Comparing last year's price (495 CAD, including tax) vs this year (495 CAD + tax), it seems kind of weird.

What's the right answer? Not sure if there's even any way to escalate this, as I've only communicated with one person via e-mail.
