The American Express $200 travel credit doesn't require much effort to redeem. On most domestic airlines you an simply buy giftcards. We have a separate thread for each carrier explaining what qualifies.
That seems like a bunch of work for $200. If it is that simple, why doesn't AMEX just improve the offering and not force their customers to go through that step. They know it is an obstacle and many don't end up using the benefit because of that, which in turn lowers AMEX overall cost on the benefit
