When you check in at the airport, you ask for an upgrade. The charge is 50 per 500 miles of flight. A flight of 600 miles would cost you 100.00. Space available means just that, if the seat is still open at the time of boarding you can buy it for the upgrade fee. Remember your upgrade has the lowest priority of all upgrades.
