The airlines has been paid for getting you to the destination. Putting you on another airlines costs them money. Most will not do so for WX and non status pax.

Let us also ignore the rain on the tarmack issue. Every airline in the world can have you on the tarmack,

Once you factor that out, now we have the meat.

I do find the MU customer service to be between quirky and user unfriendly (I am talking IROPS/booking/reservation/seats, in flight is fine). The web site flat out does not work well. At the airport they often have un-empowered agents. Information is on a need-to-know basis. Calling is the only thing that works reliably for me.

BTW, A 95 minute connection on that route was 50-50 under perfect weather. They really need to fix this. Rationalize the time tables to what they can actually fly down that corridor.
