I too was taken aback by the STAR article, more from the photo used which dominated the front page of the Financial Section, than the story, which I agree was an unfair shot at AC. The photo is particularly unfair since, as I posted last week, AC is at the forefront of marketing campaigns aimed at G&L communities across the USA to encourage travel up here to Canada.

AC Vacations is a broker for SANDALS and in fairness posted the advisory in an appropriate fashion. In many countries, as much as most of us do not condone discriminatory treatment, it is quite legal to provide separate accommodations based on a variety of measures: gender, age, child-exclusion, etc. The complaint needs to be lodged with SANDALS, not AC Vacations. Perhaps a proof-reading might have raised a flag or two, but AC Vacations also has a responsibility to advise of such limitations so its customers are not mislead, and thus have no surprises when they arrive at their destination.

The STAR's photo is quite misleading because it is not AC.com that hosted this material, it is a quite separate website with its own url.

I suppose one can say that any niche marketing situation is going to be discriminatory and exclusionary.
