It does smart a little bit when you always refuse to try the Chiroulet white on the wine list. Granted it's not first class quality but if you knew the background story to M. Chiroulet you would.
He is a true small time producer, based in a tiny hamlet just outside Montreal-du-Gers in South West France. The most generous of men, my wife's family have known him for well over thirty years. It is quite unbelievable that he has managed to take his wine, which in reality is only known within a 30mile radius of his farm (given the sheer number of vineyards in that part of the world) and get it placed on an airline like American.
In a similar vane is M. Grassa of Tariquet (who first invited my now wife to try wine aged 9 at a fete), his family now provide Armagnac to AF For first class and business. Do try it next time you are flying AF in F.
Thank you very much
PioncianaKings and for the background on Chiroulet. I'm sorry I missed it. I usually check cellartracker.com while I'm sitting at the gate just to see how the wines are rated. I had mistakenly thought it was rated 83.6 but that was a different producer. Indeed, it gets a 90 cellartracker rating which is respectable especially for an $8 wine.

Best in the US for sure IMO, The food quality, wine selection and service put it over the top although the JFK Flagship First Dining room impressed but on a smaller scale. I agree on the so-so lounge seating although I didn't notice a lack of chargers, but I'm sure I really paid much attention since I could charge in flight. Thanks

It could be anywhere, as you wrote at some earlier report, but it's Manhattan??
The Paris concept is over, I understand?
Thank you very much
abeyro. No Manhattan or Paris. We opted to stay in Southern California, moving 15 miles north the Newport Beach.

Indeed, it is not a requirement at all. This was just a rogue power-tripping FA that didn't want to have to deal with a non-existent shade issue 5 hours later.

Another great report, SFO777. Wow, it looks like AA has really improved their lounges. The food at the lounge at JFK looks great!
Thanks for sharing.
Thank you
