I have not heard about transits, where passengers can stay completely airside and do not have to got through passport checks/transit stamps. Maybe they exist as exceptions but I would only could on them if confirmed by the Airline. TG is certainly not one of them
At least for
NZ transits in PVG their website has a notice posted and an exception is exactly what this is. I realize this doesn't help OP but this is official.
If OP doesn't have a passport that can partake in TWOV (by their own admission) then they'll need to procure a visa to take these flights.
And even with a visa a 2hr connection is asking for trouble.
