Also - only certain airlines have agreement with Chinese authorities for airside transfer - there is an excellent thread on SK forum with pictures (taken at the airport transit board) which connections are possible airside (TG to AC are not):

At least there's 6 boxes, a few years ago it was only NZ - LH (?). Progress.
