Excellent suggestions, as usual from
NJRob. :-:
But in that specific situation quoted above, the recommendation given will most likely not suffice. Certain changes in HH CRS in the last few months resulted in the confusion between (a) your reservation choice of bedding (e.g., you want 2 beds for this specific reservation), (b) the comments
you put in the comment box, and (c) the comments automatically put in the comment box by the computer (usually happens within a couple days from the stay date, but sometimes takes place immediately after your reservation is made) that are based on the preferences listed in your HH profile (e.g., in my case, king bed, etc).
So, when I need a room with 2 beds and reserve one, no matter what
I put in the comment box, the last comments in it will be those automatically put by the computer, which will include, among other things, request for an "upgrade" to a king!
Some room managers pay attention and realize that such an "upgrade" would not be desirable by any means, but, based on my experience, 2 out of 3 simply quickly scan the comment box when pre-assigning rooms in the morning of arrival, and go with the last comments there.
I learned my lesson: when I need to make sure that I need different preferences used for that particular reservation, it's important to call the hotel and ask them to manually override the "automatic" comments" with something like
"do not bump!!!" (I've seen that language in comments to my reservation before

).
